Changes in Kidney Function and Life Expectancy After Kidney Nephrectomy

چکیده
Nephrectomy is performed for the treatment of kidney cancer or purpose transplantation. Generally, function decreases after nephrectomy. It well known that incidence cardiovascular disease increases and ultimately mortality rate when decreases. Therefore, renal mass detected, partial nephrectomy (PN) preferred over radical (RN) to preserve as much possible. However, recent studies have shown PN does not a survival benefit in all patients compared RN. Meanwhile, numerous living donors showed donation itself did increase risk diabetes, high blood pressure, disease, mortality. higher rates than general populations. yet difficult find conclusion these debates. We make clinical decision rest on balance potential benefits harms competing treatments, personalized individual patient.

Kidney function, albuminuria and life expectancy
BACKGROUND Lower estimated glomerular filtration rate is associated with reduced life expectancy. Whether this association is modified by the presence or absence of albuminuria, another cardinal finding of chronic kidney disease, is unknown. OBJECTIVE Our objective was to estimate the life expectancy of middle-aged men and women with varying levels of eGFR and concomitant albuminuria. DESIG...
متن کاملNEUROLOGIC AND PSYCHOLOGIC COMPLICATIONS AFTER KIDNEY TRANSPLANTATION
Neurologic and psychologic complications are usually related to drug toxicity, infections or symptoms induced by deterioration of renal allograft function. Metabolic encephalopathy, hypertensive encephalopathy, cerebrovascular events, and new-onset seizures have all been reported in organ-transplant recipients. Infections can be caused by listeria, cryptococcus, nocardia, aspergillus and mu...
متن کاملHistological changes of kidney in diabetic nephropathy
Diabetes mellitus is the most common cause of chronic renal disorders and end-stage kidney disease in developed countries. It is the major cause of dialysis and transplantation. Failure in renal function causes wide disorders in the body. Diabetes results in wide range of alterations in the renal tissue. It is believed that early histological changes in diabetic nephropathy are detectabl...
متن کاملFenoldopam and renal function after partial nephrectomy in a solitary kidney: a randomized, blinded trial.
OBJECTIVE To test the hypothesis that fenoldopam administration ameliorates ischemic injury, preserving the glomerular filtration rate and serum creatinine postoperatively after partial nephrectomy in patients with a solitary kidney. MATERIALS AND METHODS Fenoldopam is a short-acting dopamine-1 receptor agonist that might provide renal protection during ischemic stress. A total of 90 patients...
متن کاملAdaptive hyperfiltration in the aging kidney after contralateral nephrectomy.
We examined the magnitude of adaptive hyperfiltration in the remaining kidney of 16 aging (>57 yr) and 16 youthful (<55 yr) individuals who had undergone a contralateral nephrectomy. Healthy volunteers who were youthful (n = 143) or aging (n = 37) provided control values for the binephric condition. One-kidney glomerular filtration rate (GFR; +42%), renal plasma flow (+38%), plasma oncotic pres...
